Turning the tides of development towards the higher altitude, the Karnataka government is all set to update the state’s higher education syllabus. On Wednesday, the Higher Education Minister G T Devagowda said that he is ready to form an expert committee which will recommend the needful changes in the state’s higher education syllabus to ensure maximum enrolment in the higher education institutions. He says, “It has been a long time that the syllabus of higher education has not been changed. Now are the days where most of the changes are taking place. So, we want to develop our upcoming heroes for becoming the master of fruitful developments.”
Adding essence to India’s skill the youth movement, Higher Education Minister Devagowda said that he has asked the universities to start skill-development centres and provide necessary trainings to the village youth for higher education via awareness programmes. “We have to increase the GER of higher education and encourage the young generation on getting admissions to higher education institutes and hence, complete their education. By introducing biometric attendance tracker for teachers, I want to ensure the quality of education is also improved and I’m hopeful to implement all the necessary recommendations by the start of the next academic session,” says Devagowda. He further added, “If we are able to make all the examinations that are conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority online, then we can reduce the unethical practices during the exam hours. We have plans on developing new software and start the new process in the coming year.”
There are steps that are to be taken to nullify the difference between the government engineering colleges and private engineering colleges and also the government is ready to appoint lecturers, teaching staffs and principals prior to the coming academic year.
