Since admit cards are going to be issued by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Probationary Examination (IBPS PO) soon, it is one last chance for the aspiring candidates, who still haven’t completed practicing Numerical, Logical Reasoning, English Language, and General Awareness. But before proceeding further with your learning, let us know the facts and details about the examination. The IBPS board has announced that a total of 4336 vacancies are to be filled through this recruitment examination (preliminary, mains, and interview) in 9 public sector banks, which are – Bank of India, Union Bank of India, UCO Bank, Allahabad Bank, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Oriental Bank of Commerce, and Corporation.
The examination will be held on October 12, October 13, October 19 and October 20. There will be multiple-choice questions.

The participating banks conduct pre-examination training for the candidates that belong to SC/ST/Minority section. It is known as Pre-Exam Training. Pre-Exam training has already started on 23rd September 2019 and will be ending on 28 September, 2019. This is a free of cost training, where the candidates receive important information regarding rules, regulation, examination pattern and last minute preparation procedure. As mentioned by IBPS recruitment panel, candidates who will qualify the preliminary examination round will be eligible to sit in the mains examination round on November 2019. Once the candidates qualify in the main round, the final selection process involves evaluation of a candidate’s performance in the interview round. Based on this, the aspiring candidates get a chance to work in the prestigious job role.
Admit Card Details
As declared by IBPS PO Recruitment panel, Admit Card/Hall Tickets will be issued to the candidates 10-15 days before the examination. Candidates must stay updated about admit card news from official IBPS website – www.ibps.in. Without a hall ticket, candidates will not be entertained. Candidates should also carry a government photo id (aadhar card, pan card, driving license, passport, voter’s id and passport - photocopy and original) for personal identification.
Preliminary Examination Pattern – 2019
The preliminary examination contains a total of 100 multiple-choice questions with a total of 100 marks (1 mark each for every question) – 30 questions from the English language, 35 questions from Quantitative Aptitude and 35 questions from Reasoning Ability. Candidates will get 20 minutes each for every section.

Mains Examination Pattern – 2019
The mains examination has a total of 155 questions, where multiple-choice questions from Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language, and Data Analysis and Interpretation. There will be 2 descriptive questions from the English Language.
Candidates need to complete 45 Reasoning and Computer Aptitude question with a total of 60 marks in 60 minutes, 40 General/Economy/Banking Awareness questions of 40 marks in 35 minutes, 35 English Language questions of 40 marks in 40 minutes and 35 Data Analysis and Interpretation questions of 60 marks in 45 minutes. The descriptive paper (English Language) has 2 English questions (letter writing and essay) of 25 marks which candidates need to answer in 30 minutes.

Descriptive Test Pattern
For letter writing, candidates will be asked to write formal, semi-formal, and informal letter on general topics, current affairs, and banking awareness. And for essay writing, candidates will be asked to write from given topics related to current affairs. So, candidates must stay updated on recent news on various topics, especially science, technology, discoveries, sports, finance, economy, polity, and social welfare happening in India and worldwide.
Note – Except English Language and Descriptive English, all other questions will be available on both English and Hindi language. Also, for every wrong answer, candidates will face a negative marking of 0.25.
Candidates qualifying in the preliminary and mains examination are going to be called by the respective participating banks for interview. IBPS PO recruitment panel will forward the interview details – centre and date via call letters and admit cards. For interview round, IBPS recruitment panel has allotted 100 marks.
