Since March of this year, the government has opened 104 playschools in Gurugram. These playschools, which are outfitted with cutting-edge technology and qualified teachers, have enrolled up to 1,500 youngsters. The vast majority of these schools have been established in rural locations.
"Different government initiatives have so far been aimed at providing affordable education at the primary, secondary, and senior secondary levels," stated Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav. However, there has been a scarcity of low-cost pre-primary facilities."
He stated that many low-income parents frequently complain about the lack of cheap institutions for their children's pre-primary education. These schools were established in order to bring these children up to speed with the rest of the population.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, several private companies have expressed interest in adopting and improving these schools under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) plan.
It is worth noting that a technology company has adopted 20 of these schools and paid Rs 32 lakh on new instructional equipment.
The local administration has also asked panchayats to adopt these schools in their communities and contribute to their upkeep and improvement.
The administration has also assigned HCS officers to five to seven schools. The officials have been required to visit these playschools on a regular basis and report back to the administration on their success. Furthermore, the schools have formed alliances with numerous non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to assist kid enrollment.
Suman Dhingra, a member of a local parent-teacher group, stated, "In a city like Gurugram, playschools in many areas are more expensive than average high schools." While poor families manage to acquire their children elementary and secondary education in government or private schools under provisions in the Right to Education Act, playschools remain out of their reach.
